1958 Florence Knoll Parallel Bar Series Three Seat Sofa w/ Original Green Fabric
Listed for sale is a rare and original Florence Knoll parallel bar series sofa that came from the (now demolished) Industrial Mutual Association Auditorium, known as the I.M.A. in Flint, Michigan. The I.M.A. was demolished in the 1990's. While the building was constructed in 1929, a modernist addition was added in 1958, which is when this sofa was ordered and specified for the project as part of the annex addition. Note the label beneath the sofa. Aside from the unique history of the sofa, it is also a rare example of Florence Knoll's work and seemingly completely original with its original upholstery. With the exception of what looks like a cigarette burn (about half an inch in diameter), the sofa is in beautiful condition.
The sofa measures 90.5 inches long by 31.25 inches tall and 30 inches deep.
